Ho Chi Minh City is a culturally diverse city! Getting you off the crowded tourist trails, the in-depth tour will bring you to different areas of the city to see how locals live their lives and immerse yourself in their daily basis. Especially, plenty of traditional foods are waiting for you in the food tour!
The first place in the journey is the garage of the Saigon manor, a secret hideout and a workshop of the Saigon Special Force in the Vietnam War. This is also the place displaying two cars, Citroen NCE-345 and Hino Pickup EC-6045, which were used to attack the Independence Palace in 1968. That campaign was planned by Captain Tran Van Lai, who has come and hidden in Saigon for 10 years to prepare for the attack.
Following the story of Captain Tran Van Lai, we are coming to the next place – Do Phu Coffee Shop – the old house of him. There is also a secret weapons cellar under the house of Mr. Lai, which took him 3 years to build and connect with a special tunnel through 3 houses nearby. This is the place that contains many historical data of the Campaign in 1968. Especially, you will have chance to enjoy Vietnamese-flavored milk coffee traditionally.
Back to the road, we will drive through Ho Thi Ky Flower Market and get to District 5 – The China Town of Saigon. Our first stop here is a restaurant serving traditional foods, especially the “Banh Xeo” - Vietnamese Pancake. You can see how they make the dish with your naked eyes and learn how to enjoy it with many different types of forest vegetables. Then, we will go to many sights in China Town and try tropical fruits or street foods like a local. In the end, you will be invited to a traditional restaurant to have a warm meal as a goodbye and gratefulness.
